The new Nissan Leaf EV is rumored that it can be charged by the sun, in a round about way. Nissan, the company supplying eco-friendly and EV vehicles to New City Nissan, 2295 North King St Honolulu HI, 96819, has happily joined forced with SunPower Corp!
SunPower has created a solar powering system on the new Leaf that would allow you to connect it to your residential home. This would not only recharge the vehicle, but provide green electricity for the house with solar energy.
"Solar power is a reliable, cost-effective technology for homeowners today," said SunPower CEO Tom Werner. "High efficiency SunPower systems are guaranteed to perform over the long term, maximizing the power generated and the monthly savings."1
SunPower's systems keep driving down the cost for EV drivers, and will also cut carbon emissions, by using sunlight. We will also see more renewable energy being used instead of electricity produced in traditional ways for homes. Educational materials include web content and video tutorials.
"Nissan LEAF owners are conscientious about their energy use, and it makes sense for them to understand how they can offset the power that their all-electric LEAF requires with clean, renewable solar power generated from their own rooftop."2
