The Future Looks Bright for Nissan

If you've been following the New City Nissan blog recently, you'll know that it's been a big year for Nissan, and it's only getting bigger. Last year didn't start so well, with the earthquake and tsunami in Japan - and Nissan wasn't the only automaker that had to halt production and face parts shortages around the globe.  But as we cross into the second half a 2012, it appears the Nissan has bounced back.

First, we hear that Nissan posted best-ever sales in June, with a year-over-year increase of 28.2 percent. That's 81,101 new Nissan models, including 3,101 Juke models, 10,999 Rogue models, and 21,812 units of the all-new 2013 Altima.

But that's just the beginning. Recently, Moody's Investors Service announced that Nissan's steady growth and expanding model lineup has helped them earn an upgraded credit score this year - from Baa1 to A3. In a recent statement, Moody explains, "The upgrade reflects Moody's expectation that Nissan's new product cadence, its continuing focus on cost controls and its commitment to building global brand value will enable [Nissan] to sustain strong performance."1

The company also warned that a strengthening yen as well as a market that gets more competitive by the day could prove difficult for the automaker, but their upgraded credit rating proves their overall confidence in the brand.

With upcoming new models like the Pathfinder heading into showrooms soon, as well as three other new or heavily updated models, we have no doubt that Nissan will continue to prove their stability over time. Be sure to stay tuned with New City Nissan for more news and updates.
