The Nissan Altima offers Schofield Barracks buyers a choice of two different engines: A 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 188 horsepower and a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 248 horsepower. The Nissan Sentra comes exclusively with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that has 149 horsepower. The Altima offers standard front-wheel drive or available Intelligent all-wheel drive while the Sentra comes exclusively with front-wheel drive.
The new Altima can take Waipahu and Ewa Beach drivers from zero to 60 mph in 7.4 seconds with the standard engine and 5.9 seconds with the available turbo. The Sentra takes 9.2 seconds to make the same 60 mph run. The Altima gives you 27 miles with every gallon in the city and 39 MPG on the highway with the standard engine and 25 miles with each gallon in the city and 34 MPG on the highway with the turbo. The Nissan Sentra is more fuel efficient with 30 MPG in the city and 40 MPG on the highway. A comparison of size and cargo space
The Nissan Altima is 192.9 inches long vs. the Nissan Sentra which is 10 inches shorter at 182.9 inches. The Nissan Altima is 72.9 inches wide and the Nissan Sentra is almost the same as 71.5 inches. Both models are about 57 inches high while the Altima has a 111.2-inch wheelbase compared with the Sentra with a wheelbase of 106.6 inches. Standard features in the Nissan Altima S include a 5-inch multifunction information display, a 7-inch touch screen display, remote engine start, a six-way power-adjustable driver's seat and cloth seat upholstery. The Altima also has a six-speaker audio system, 16-inch steel wheels with covers, Intelligent Auto Headlights and a chrome V-Motion grille.
The top-trim Nissan Sentra comes with a lower starting price than the base level Altima S so the Sentra delivers a lot of value. That includes a an 8-inch NissanConnect touch screen display, remote engine start, Intelligent Climate Control and a six-way power adjustable driver's seat. Like the Altima, the Sentra has an audio system with six speakers but it gives you 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels, Intelligent Auto headlights and a dark chrome V-motion grille.
