Sales Representative

Express Service Advisor

Essential Duties:

  • Greets customers in a timely manner and obtains vehicle information
  • Writes up customer's vehicle problems accurately and clearly on repair order
  • Refers to service history, inspects vehicle and recommends additional services needed
  • Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicle in accordance with manufacturer's specifications
  • Provides a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts
  • Establishes approximate "promised time"
  • Obtains customer's signature on repair order/pre-write
  • Checks on progress of repair throughout the day.  Contacts customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explains cost and time requirements in detail and gets proper authorization before additional repairs are performed
  • Reviews repair orders to ensure that work is completed and additional work and authorization is noted.  Closes repair order as appropriate
  • Explains completed work and all charges to customers
  • Checks accuracy of technicians' hours on the job
  • Processes customer-pay, warranty, internal and service-contract paperwork to ensure payment
  • Assists with cashiering customer invoices, retrieving customer vehicle when necessary
  • Prepares customer invoices and keys for after-hours pick-ups
  • Maintains high customer satisfaction standards
  • Handles telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process
  • Maintains a professional appearance
  • Keeps work area clean
  • Other duties may be assigned

Physical Demands:

  • Perform a "walk-around" on customers' vehicles for mechanical and cosmetic inspection
  • Bending over to inspect engine and trunk compartments
  • Sitting inside vehicles to document vehicle mileage, identification numbers and condition of interior as well as driving vehicle
  • Crouching down and sometimes lying on ground for visual inspection of vehicle's undercarriage
  • Some light to moderate lifting of vehicle parts and accessories
  • Sitting at a desk for long periods of time while working on a computer and making phone calls
  • Walking between service drive, office and technician bays thoughout the day to communicate customer concerns with technicians and technician findings with customers
  • Walking up three flights of stairs or service ramp to parking area or service shop

Express Service Technician

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
  • Diagnoses vehicle problems based on customer concerns and inspection
  • Communicates with parts department to obtain parts
  • Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer
  • Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended
  • Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed or if repairs cannot be completed within promised time
  • Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order
  • Road test vehicles
  • Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools and events
  • Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins
  • Inspects and test drives newly delivered vehicles for obvious damage and missing components and driveability functions
  • Installs optional equipment specified by the customer or dealer
  • Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
  • Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean.  Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle
  • Keeps shop area neat and clean
  • Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.  Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received
  • Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
  • Reports any safety issues immediately to management
  • Other duties may be assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • Performs most tasks assigned with some supervision required
  • Requires average mechanical knowledge
  • Be able to stand for entire shifts
  • Lift tires, boxes and misc. vehicle parts in excess of 50 pounds

Lot Technician

Job Responsibilities:

  • Verifies receipt of new cars delivered
  • Inspect cars to detect damage and verify presence of accessories listed on invoice
  • Record description of damages and missing items on delivery receipt
  • Parks new cars in assigned area according to model
  • Assigns stock control numbers to cars and stores keys
  • Re-parks cars to maximize use of space and maintain lot in order
  • Delivers sold cars to new preparation department
  • Prep sold cars
